Education

Discussing Garrett Morgan’s contribution to U.S. History and the transportation industry

Education is the 1st priority of the COMTO Jacksonville chapter. By way of education, we see this tenet as a multi-faceted opportunity for our members. These are the tiers we look to achieve as a chapter.

Tier 1: Transportation 101. This tier focuses on grade-school aged students up to college students. Educating our future generation about the opportunities in transportation is paramount. The format in which the content is presented has come in the form of lunch & learns, hands-on learning opportunities, internships and scholarships.

Tier 2: Young Professional Development. This tier focuses on young professionals in business or entrepreneurship. We aspire to provide tools to help develop one’s professional skill set to navigate and move up the ladder (corporate, government, non-profit).

Tier 3: Business Owner Education. This tier is focused on providing opportunities to learn how to develop and grow one’s business or venture. Whether its business concepts or creating resource awareness, educational transparency is key creating a level playing field for success.

We ensure transportation serves all. We believe that all lived experience moves the world. We believe that the leadership of a massive industry that has the responsibility of transporting all people all the time should reflect the complex mosaic of those they serve. We believe that commitment to uplifting all people moves us forward every day.
